BUSINESS BACKGROUND

Clifford E. Knudtsen and his brother, Wayne G. Knudtsen, founded Knudtsen Chevrolet Co. on June 12, 1939. In 1958, Clifford’s son, Wayne, who had been selling cars for his father and uncle, succeeded Clifford as Dealer. Wayne purchased his uncle’s share of the dealership in 1972.
Wayne Knudtsen was the sole owner of Knudtsen Chevrolet until 1983 when his daughter, Eve purchased two percent of the company. Eve was at Northwood University studying Automotive Marketing, Economics and Management. In 1993; Eve, who had become General Manager, acquired more ownership in the dealership. Her brother, Eric, also became an owner in the dealership that year.
Knudtsen Chevrolet relocated from its midtown Coeur d’Alene location to its current location on I-90 in Post Falls in December of 2002.
In 2005, Eve and Eric completed the purchase of Knudtsen Chevrolet from their father, Wayne, who is happily enjoying his retirement. Eve is Dealer and President and Eric is General Manager and Vice President.
Eve, Eric and Knudtsen Chevrolet continue their long-standing commitment to serving Kootenai County. Eve was honored for her service in 2006 as one of 66 dealers nationwide to be selected as Time Magazine’s Quality Dealer of the Year. Eric has served the industry as President of the Idaho State Independent Auto Dealers. Eve, Eric, Wayne and Knudtsen Chevrolet were honored to be recognized as the 2007 Post Falls Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year. Knudtsen Chevrolet actively participates in many civic and professional activities, particularly those that benefit the youth in Kootenai County. |  |
